This is what I wish I could still be doing

We all had a fun and tiring weekend!

Saturday morning I took my time before I headed out to long run.  It was cold so I was waiting for the sun to come up a little and warm things up.   I said I was aiming for 20ish miles or 3 hours.

I was a lot short on time and a little short on the mileage.  I got a ride to the start of my run and ran home. For some reason I just can’t run by my house and keep going.  I wish I would have pushed for that extra bit but it wasn’t happening.

Later in the day I did 3 more miles…nice and easy on a flat course to help loosen my legs some.  Overall I got 22 miles in for the day.

The first 19.11 were good.  It was chilly but I ran fast and felt good. I didn’t feel like I needed to push for the pace until the last few miles so I was happy with that.  In between the runs I made sure to ice, stretch, rehydrate and refuel.

After my runs were completed J and I hopped into the car and headed straight into the sun.  Seriously.  The sun was blinding and I was getting annoyed.

We headed down to Philly to see one of J’s favorite singers.

If you never heard Ray LaMontagne you are missing out. He is pretty chill but has an awesome raspy voice and is AMAZING live.  I didn’t enjoy the show as much as I should have because I was so so sooo tired from running.  J was a trooper and drove my sleepyass all the way home too.  I got a nice 2 hours snooze on the way home. Thanks J!

Sunday we went to pick up some decorations for Christmas.  We are trying to make our house the most awesome in the neighborhood so we are searching high and low for cool decorations.  I needed a Starbucks Christmas cup to help get me into the holiday spirit

Crazy Singing Runner

Yesterday I taught another CrossFit class.  I am starting to think that the dudes that take my class don’t take me seriously.  Two of them just stopped in the middle of the workout yesterday.  I decided that if they try that crap next time I teach this is what I will say to them….”HELLO, WELCOME TO CROSSFIT, THIS SHIT IS NO JOKE AND ITS SUPPOSED TO BE HARD. NO BITCHING OUT ON MY WATCH. ”  Ok, maybe not so harsh but they are wimps.  Wimps

Today I found my new favorite song.

I kid you not, I have listened to it 14,000 times. I counted.  I had a dance party with just the dogs, I had a dance party with J, I listened to it on repeat on my run, hell…I even SANG while I was running..OUTSIDE.  I swear.  That happened.   If you hear of a crazy girl from my area that is running and really out of breath but saying/singing while she runs….it’s just me.

The song is awesome and when I heard it I instantly wanted to run.  Seriously.  It’s amazing.

I had to break out some winter gear for today’s run.  It is getting chilly!

Concert time

This weekend was quite the success!   🙂

On Saturday morning I met with a friend to complete 16 miles.  This was the longest run I had done since May of last year!  I didn’t run as fast as I had hoped but I still completed all 16 miles!  The last 2 were killer.  Between the heat and the fact that I was adding 3 more miles than last week, I was ready to be done.

Throughout the run I had 2 shot bloks every 40 minutes and drank Nuun or Gatorade.  At mile 11 on the run we stopped for a refill of fluids.  It was just toooo hot to not have something to drink!  The new water bottle belt I bought worked out perfectly too!  I made it tight enough that it didn’t bounce or annoy me once!

I was so thankful to have someone to run with!  I am already looking forward to next weekends run 🙂

After my long run Saturday, Jbone and I hopped into the car and drove to Philly with two of our friends to go see an O.A.R. concert.  We had a blast!  Good food, good people, good music.  It was such a nice weekend!

We ended up calling it a night around 11 which isn’t bad at all!  J and I had such a fun time!  We were able to catch up with friends and still had time to enjoy each others company.  After the busy past few weeks, we needed it!

Most of Sunday was spent being lazy.  I got some cleaning done around the house but not much more than that.  My three roommates were pretty exhausted.

Tonight is a run to and from CrossFit.

That time I did all the awesome things

This weekend was aweeeesome.  Quality girl time.  Quality boyfriend time.  Quality run time.  The only thing that could have made it better is if there was a sand and ocean involved 😛

First off—

I’m ALMOST DONE with the Summer run streak.  Dude, my legs are cryin’ for a break.  Anyone else?  I am looking forward to a complete rest day Thursday!

Ok—-Where were we…

Friday was the big day..

Turkey sandwich.  I didn’t love it but it also wasn’t exactly what I wanted.  I was thinking more of something on good bread with good cheese and good tomatoes.  But, I didn’t hate it.  Or die.  thank god for that one.   The rest of the weekend I ate my meatloving face off.  Hot dogs and turkey for everyone!  maybe even a taste of bacon.

I plan on eating meat more often.  Not in the form of hot dogs and bacon, but more in the way of lean meats like turkey and chicken.  I feel way different from than I anticipated.  I thought I was going to feel so guilty and ashamed but nope… I am excited to cook more, to have more options of things I can eat and I’m really interested in seeing how I feel in a few weeks!

After all the meat was eaten, we went to see my other boyfriend in concert.  It was a freakin BLAST! I love Dave Matthew Band.  I’m pretty sure when they sing, they sing to me and only me.  My mom, Slull and I had such a fun time.  We even stayed until the very end.  Encore of Ants Marching?  AMAZEBALLS

I love hanging out with those two.  I am soooo lucky that we all get along and actually, for real, like each other.  We just laugh and laugh when we are together, it’s awesome.
Saturday morning we all woke up nice and early and went for the hottest run of my life a run.  Running in Hershey isn’t as flat as I had hoped but I still managed to get in a little over 9 hot ass miles.

The rest of my weekend consisted of never ending more house stuff and a BBQ Saturday night.

I am seriously craving some beach time in my life.  I am working on figuring out a weekend I can go away right now!  I am just so freakin busy, I don’t know when I can fit it in! Hey, at least I am busy with all good things!

Hi folks! Seems like this post will be a little all over the place, so good luck keeping up! 😉

First off, thanks for all of the encouraging words about changing my eating habits.  I haven’t done anything drastic yet but when I do I will be sure to share.

-So, I have been keeping up with my streaking.  I am freaking READY for July 4th to come and have a day off.  A full, complete, 100% rest my legs, day off.  Don’t get me wrong, I love love love running, but my legs are tired.  Especially with all the ass kicking i do heavy lifting at CrossFit.  I need a rest.  BUT, until then… I’ll keep running! And big props to those of you keeping up the streaking (shout out to Bekah Boo Boo)!!!!  Almost there!!!!  KEEP RUNNING!

-Last night my friend and I met up at the local track for another Yasso workout.  Honestly…. I didn’t hate it!  We did 6 800’s.  I was conscious of my times and made sure to have negative splits for every 800 (meaning the second lap faster than the first).  I finished all under 3:20 and was super pleased that I didn’t feel like death at the end.  Had it not been for a super sore quad, I would have even pushed for 1 more 800. Who am I?!

-This morning I woke up and instantly did not want to run.  To be honest, I tried to cancel.  But, sleepyhead didn’t respond on time so I got dressed and headed to run.  I set out with plans on running  2 miles.  I got out there and it was the perfect temperature, my legs were tired but not dead and I was realllly enjoying it.  A little over 5 miles later and I was happy as can be.  Seriously, running first thing in the morning outside is the best way for me to start my day. I am happy and most likely more pleasant to be around all day.  Morning running outside is hands down my favorite thing in the whole world.

-On Friday I am going to see my boyfriend, Dave, at Hershey with momma bear and this girl.  I can’t explain how happy I am.  We all know I love concerts, especially Dave Matthews Band.

In preparation for Friday I am oh so obnoxiously walking around with headphones blaring all the DMB I can find.  Between my run this morning and this music, I am painfully happy. yes, thats a real thing…. so happy it hurts.

-I am getting worse at remembering to take pictures.  I swear I will get better, or at least try.  That’s fair!

-Oh andddd Jbone and I still working on making our new house perfect so we aren’t in yet.  soon though!  and I can’t.freakin.wait!

Filthy and Photoshoots

Can’t weekend ALWAYS be warm and sunny and last more than 2 days?   I mean, I still like weekends but I love them when they are tan worthy 😉

Friday Jbone and I had a fun night.  First we did CF together, the filthy fifty.  IT. WAS. AWESOME. I had heard of the “Filthy Fifty” before but never actually did it.  There were close to 20 of us at the gym and it was so much fun.  Hard as helll, but so much fun.

After we got our sweat on we had to go to a family graduation party.  We got there too early and had to wait in the car for a bit…clearly the only smart thing to do would be have a photo shoot. duh.

The rest of the weekend consisted of lunch and some shopping with mom, party hopping from cross fit gatherings to lake parties and of course… STREAKING!

I am sooooore everywhere.  But I have been good about stretching and icing achy knees so my streak is still going!  Today I did a mile and called it quits.  Are YOU still streaking?!  The cool weather yesterday and today is perfect for running!  I hope you took advantage of it!  Off to hang with family for the rest of the day 🙂

Runs, Concerts and Streaking

Doesn’t it feel so good knowing it is only a 4 day week?  You’re brain thinks monday but… NOPE.  allllready tuesday 🙂

I had a fab rest of my weekend.  What about you?

Now, I know I said I can’t workout blahblahblah…yea yea yea… Well this happened….

I had the chance to run a 5K with my SIL so I took it.  We went at a comfortable pace and I didn’t strain myself too much.  AND I felt great afterwards!  I am glad that I was able to get out there and move my legs, but more importantly felt totally fine afterwards!  It didn’t hurt that I go to run with my bff andddd I think we have a new runner in the family!

After an impromptu 5K it was time to go home and get ready to see my boyfriend in concert.  Some of you might know him, his name is Dave Matthews 😛

I met up with a few friends to tailgate first then it was time to go watch the show

It was such a good time.  There was good friends, good beers and I even had a soft pretzel! I love concerts.

I am seriously in love with summer this year.  I don’t know what my deal is but this weekend alone was awesome and is making me so excited for the rest of the summer!

What is another thing I am contemplating doing that will help make me love summer even MORE?  THIS.   And I am trying to convince her to do it to.

New workout and Good tunes

Not running is weird.  I mean… I ran today but only 2 miles.  It was weird getting home from work, having no plans but knowing I can’t run!

Earlier today I went to the gym on my lunch break and took advantage of the weights.  It has been a long time since I did a strength workout that wasn’t Body Pump.  I wanted an upper body circuit that would get the job done in a short amount of time.  I wrote this out and headed down to pump some iron 😛

I did the entire workout straight through with no rest.  It took about 20/25 minutes.  I had time for 2 quick miles at the end.  I left feeling like I got a good workout but didn’t kill myself.  Perfect.

When I got home I decided to chow down a bowl of cereal.  I think I am not eating enough carbs during the day.  This is no bueno because when I get home I am jonesin’ for a bread product!  Peanut Butter Cheerios did the trick!  I also needed a cup of coffee to wake me up!

I hopped on my trainer errr… bike  got dressed to spin out my legs for a bit inside.  Before I started spinning I downloaded some new music…. Some Nights by FUN. Do yourself a favor.  Get it.   Some Nights is the JAM.  I mean…. I think I listened to it no less than 10 times in a row.  Its SO good.  I’m obsessed.

I usually get really bored and cut indoor bike rides short… but not this time!  I had some good tunes and my ipad and Koda dog to keep me company and before I knew it, 40 minutes flew by!


The rest of the night I hung with my boyfrandddd and I got to face time with my BFF.

Now I am gonna hang with the doggers and then hit the hay!
